About
Fleet Fish was established in 1985 by Charlie's Aunt and Uncle, Eric and Mary Cowan. When Charlie was younger, he worked on the van with Mary before joining the Army. Charlie served in Iraq, Germany, Afghanistan, Northern Ireland and the Falklands; finishing up as a basic training instructor at Catterick. When he left the Army, he became an employee at Fleet Fish, moving on to purchase the business in 2015.
In 2023 he took over the reigns of the Ferry Fish Pop-up Shop on the Market Hill in Castle Douglas. Charlie's Aunt and Uncle, Wyllie and Linda McCulloch, had traded on the Market Hill for 38 years, but, decided to enjoy a very well deserved retirement.
Our Produce
Charlie has built up a strong reputation for the quality of his produce. Fish, fruit, vegetables & seasonal produce are hand picked weekly at Blochairn Markets, Glasgow.
The van travels to Glasgow during the night to ensure freshness - it really can be from market place to your plate in less than 24 hours!
Give Charlie a call for any special requests and he will be happy to help!
